it was amazing
bookshelves: days-of-the-week, food, numbers

Great book for Prek and Kindergarten! This book of Eric Carle's is great for teaching both math, science, and literature in one. It shows how a tiny caterpillar eats through SO many different foods. As he eats the children are able to follow along and learn their numbers, food names, and days of the week. Also it shows the cycle from caterpillar to butterfly! It makes it fun for the children because there are tiny holes where the caterpillar ate "eaten its way through" the food for the children to put their fingers in. Very interactive! Vivid and colorful illustrations and layered pages.
