Okay, this writer has completely ensnared herself a spot in my list of favourite authors!! My mind has chills. My womb still hurts. My body feels like I had the mother of all workouts!! I read something that stated that Marissa Honeycutt is the Stephen King of erotica. They definitely weren't lying. Oh the freaking horror show of a story!!
Anna. Poor deluded, gullible, unfortunate soul Anna. The only things about her that I really can't stand are that (1) she continually sells herself short. She blames herself for every imagined infraction deserving of Devin's "punishment". I believe, and it has been shown, that she is a hell of a lot stronger than she thinks. I'm waiting for her to rise like a phoenix and smite his evil a**; and (2) she falls in love all the time!! I get that her emotional maturity is underdeveloped but she confuses romantic love with platonic love an awful lot in this series. It gets annoying.
However, her overall strength and perseverance far outweigh these minor character flaws. Honeycutt has created a wonderful character borne of tragedy. She may not seem strong on the surface, but it is a strength that really does come from within. I'm just anxiously awaiting the time when this strength really shines through. Like maybe she'll come into her powers?! *Hint hint nudge nudge*
I miss Alex. Screw everyone else. I miss my sexy bi-curious giant of a man. I need more of his love for Anna. I think it's the only thing that can truly heal her. I'm glad to see that Wilhelm and Kurt are still there for her, but that whole relationship is too twisted for reality. Let's just say that I had a lot of ick moments. Something I'm finding is pretty standard in these books because there are a lot of ick moments.
Devin. Oh how I want this man to spontaneously combust. Seriously. He is just sooooooo freaking evil. And he relishes in it. Blood? No problem. He'll lick and suck it from any part of your body. WTF?! No type of torture is off limits for this dude. He is truly sick. I don't think I've read a better freaking sociopath/psychopath as this guy. I can't even sum up his quirks in words. Wow, I put down quirks, like what he does is awkwardly adorable or something. It's not!!
All the side characters are great too and there were some wonderful additions, such as Peter. He really turned out to be an awesome guy. I'm wondering what awaits me in book 5 of this adventure. I'm scared...

"Anna's dreams are a huge clue. Why does everyone accept that they're not real instead of questioning Vlad??? He was in it too!! They obviously can't question Devin :( I know her dreams are real and no one can convince me otherwise!"
