As it's been a while since I read this, I'm not sure why it has three stars. Whenever I think of novels I've read by Margaret George, which seems like a lot, it's never a particularly high rating in my mind. What I recall about this is trudging though the pages and losing interest. And my all time favorite gripe about Cleopatra being beautiful. History leans otherwise, though I wouldn't doubt she has a strong personality or charisma. Beauty...I've no idea, but I'm always doubtful of it. Anyone can be beautiful with enough power and lots of wine.

I definitely like how Colleen McCullough presents her better.
