Many children can relate to Joey, the main character, in this book. Joey is hesitant to do many things at his Grandma and Grandpa's house, but when he finally gives in he is very happy that he did. I think this text can show children that it is important to try new things and not too be afraid to go out of your comfort zone. I like books that teach important life lessons, and this is definitely one! The things that Joey does can also be very relatable to some activities that many kids may participate in, and in the end Joey cannot wait to get back to Grandma and Grandpa's!
