really liked it
bookshelves: alpha, possessive

I really liked Ryland. To be honest, he was the only character I really cared about or was invested in. I'm not going to break down the plot. I'm going to give my opinion on the characters.

Brighton: naive, oblivious, obtuse, I didn't much care for her. Her so-called innocence wasn't attractive to me because it made her blind (or ignorant) to reality and react in immature ways. Despite evidence to the contrary, and despite the fact that she purports to love Ryland, she's still defending her family. What family dude??? She was annoying and the fact that the story is told from her POV irked me.

Ryland: the author created a gem with this character. I knew that his back story would be complicated, but I had no idea how catastrophic it really was. What he witnessed and endured was utterly tragic and I completely understood his need for vengeance. Not that I condone vigilantes but I got it. The author wove his grief like a shield, his armour against the world and it was believable. That's why he's my fave in the book.

Brayden: dude deserved everything he got and his position is completely indefensible. How dare he hate Ryland?! On what planet is what he did OK??? Ryland was the damn victim and all Brayden wants to do is keep victimizing him. And TSTL Brighton still defended him.

Nicole and Matt: I hope they find peace and allow themselves happiness together.

Now I'm off to read book 2 because I need to know if Ryland was really responsible for the accident at the end. Ciao!

Thank you honey! These types of heroine make the story really hard to connect to... especially when it's told in their voice! xo
