Margaret Sonnemann Confusing. A Daughter's Devition and Mary Marston are not the same book.

Hannah A Daughter's Devotion is the edited version.

Amy M I remember reading the edited/abridged versions of his books when I was growing up. Would love to check out some originals!

Suzannah It's the first UNedited George MacDonald non-fantasy novel I've read and i found it very readable! I never read the edited version of this one but now I'm really looking forward to trying MALCOLM.

Hannah Oh, Malcolm was good edited. I was just looking at it on my shelf a couple nights ago and telling myself I need to read through the "real" version soon.

Jennifer I had always heard that the unedited versions of George MacDonald's books were rather inaccessible, but found that not to be true at all. I actually prefer the unedited versions. Mary Marston is my favorite GM book.

Christina Baehr Isn't Donal Grant about three times as long unedited? Guys, anyone who can read unabridged Sir Walter Scott will laugh their way through an unabridged MacD.
