I'm giving this novel a solid 3 stars. Three generations of Kelleher women spend their summers in Maine where the matriarch, Alice has a summer home. Alice is a real bitch who never seems to have a happy moment and her children have interesting character traits that make you want to hate them! To me there isn't much of a story just reflections and feelings told from the perspective of each family member. This was a slow read for me and I was glad when i finally finished. Maybe it should be 2.5 stars. I currently have another book written by this author, Commencement, and i hope it is better.
