There are times that I wish I could give a book more than 5 stars to show how much I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and this was one of them.

Max was grade A for A**hole. We see this right from the start in how he dealt with Keri. But thankfully we saw his humanity in his grief over her loss and in coping with single parenthood. I love hating and then loving a character sometimes. This author definitely made it work. Emelia was the perfect balance for Max. Innocent, sweet, generous, considerate, etc. She embodied all of the characteristics that he was unfamiliar with. I just loved how their love developed. The two of them, along with baby Xander made a convincing family.

I don't want to go too much into the plot because you need to read the book. So much happens and it's all good!! However, what sold me... What truly sold me on this book was... the epilogue. It was a stroke of friggin genius. It turned me into a soft, sappy, sympathetic, sentimental, sobbing excuse for a reader. And for that alone I want to give this book more stars. Freaking brilliant!!
