it was amazing
bookshelves: historical, ya

this book was too beautiful, there were so many wonderful quotes and images and moments that hurt to read because they were so perfect. it took me longer than it should have to finish because i didn't want it to end, partly because i didn't want to read characters' deaths. i wish i could give this book more than five stars; it's one that will definitely stay with me and i will read it again and again and marvel not only at the depth of good and bad in humanity that this story portrays but also at what a master author Markus Zusak is and how he was able to choose the perfect words to put on paper over and over again. it was amazing.
