Celia and Arthur move their 3 children from the city of Detroit to a small town in Kansas. Arthur moved away 20 years ago after his sister Eve died under mysterious cirumstances. Soon after they arrive, another young girl goes missing. Bitter memories surface, and the author does an excellent job of evoking the clausterphobia of life in a small town.
