I'm only giving 4 stars for Alex and his tragic and abusive back story. In all honesty, that was the only part of this series that truly captivated my interest. Everything else was pretty blah to me. Every time I thought drama was coming, that hope was quickly nipped in the bud. At some point, I became quite hopeless. It seemed that the only points of angst or contention that were cultivated only occurred in the minds of the main characters. Nothing of great importance came to pass. Even the 'horror' scene that occurred close to the end came off like a walk in the park. Where was the shock??? The turmoil??? Even the stalker messages were a joke that I couldn't even laugh at. I was waiting for something. And I kept waiting right until I read the words 'the end'. I feel like a jilted lover, just waiting.
