really liked it
bookshelves: emotional, historical-fiction, great-for-kids

I think having a documentary weaved into a historical fiction is a good idea. And it works here, mostly. I found myself often looking ahead to the documentary parts, even though I didn't always quite understand them, which leads to me believe that many kids would not either.

Despite the fact that this book centers on a family dealing with the Cuban Missile Crisis, I think it will find an audience of mainly girls, probably 11-13.
