Basically, the Coen Brothers movie is exactly, EXACTLY, like the book. Even the dialogue is directly from the pages, which, while I was pleased to see, made me crazy bored because I saw the movie first, which is why I always like to read the book before I go see the movie.

Mattie Ross has no emotion. She's very dry and unfeeling. She's extremely brave, though, and seemed to have more grit than Rooster himself, really. On another note, I am such a grammar stickler, so this was hard to read with Rooster's bad English. Oy!

Anyway, it was pretty good, so if you haven't seen the new movie or you don't mind reading the book after you've seen the movie, go ahead and try this one out. Not as much a western as I thought it would be.

Shana I think I'm stuck right where you are, but I'm blaming it on the fact that I'm more engaged with the book that's on my nook. If I'm reading, I want it to be that! I'm going to make myself finish this, though, so I'm ready for the b.c. meeting.

Mickey Reed Yeah, I'll finish this but I'm bored! It's just like the movie and it's very dry. Boo.
