I think the words 'holy crap' are my mantra while reading this series. This author has a remarkable talent for clearly illustrating everything from Faye's past trauma, current abuse, and her dependence on cocaine. I felt anger, disgust, hope, disbelief, etc. I really loved getting Rhett's POV in this one. It helped put his own feelings and utter blindness in perspective. Now that the abuse is in the open, I'm curious to see how these characters deal with it.
