really liked it
bookshelves: nonfiction
Read from March 28 to 31, 2011

This book answers every question you never thought to ask about the human side of space exploration -- with chapters on everything from astronaut selection to astronaut psychological disorders to motion sickness in space to pooping in space to sex in space... you get the idea. All is described with a wicked sense of humor and scattered throughout with the most random footnotes you could possibly imagine. I went from really liking this book to loving it about 2/3 of the way through, when the author, in the course of her research, runs across a Russian porn supposedly set in space and is so delighted by it that she spends multiple pages describing the "plot" and hilarious bits of dialogue. Amazing.
