A lovely little book--a compilation of letters written by Helene, a starving writer, living in New York to a London book shop. The book, so simple, and silly really, and spoke so strongly of life druing WWII, of its time, and of the alliance between our country of England. It is a testimony to books and how we depend on them, how they become a part of us, and how they can bring people together...
