really liked it

This book was really lovely. It's always a real draw to me to read something based in Yorkshire and I love the local references. (I am drawn to Barbara Taylor Bradford for that very reason).

Set in the 1930's it seemed historically authentic and had that innocent, raw and dreamlike overtone.

The characters were easily drawn in the imagination and quickly warmed to.

The story was built up nicely and drew to a satisfactory conclusion.

A real grit and diamonds read.
