If you're going to read one book about social science/psychology, this is the only one you need to read. Kahneman breaks down how our brains work using two simple Systems, 1 and 2. He constantly refers back to each system and how we use both in making decisions and also what occurs when we anticipate things, form biases, opinions, etc. My only complaint is that sometimes the diagrams and word problems gave me bad memories of studying for the GRE, but other than that, I think anyone who has ever been curious about decision making and the general workings of the brain should read this. Kahneman succeeded in changing the way I think about thinking.
