This is an amazing start to what is sure to be an incredible series. Despite the subject matter I found this to be an easy read (done in 2.5 hours). I'm not sure if I should even classify this book as bdsm because the main characters don't engage in a scene, except in Flynn's imagination. And oh what a creative man he is because those scenes were freaking hot!!
Natalie has survived a traumatic experience and has built a life of her own, on her own, for the last 8 years. She has given herself a rule to live by: no sex before marriage. Then she accidentally runs into super mega star Flynn Godfrey and they have an instant connection. Flynn proves to be the man who is the exception to the rule. I love that this book is told through dual POV. Reading Flynn's thoughts and feelings gave this book the depth it needed, no required, to pack a punch with its story. These two just kept connecting all over the place, while trying to fight their urges. Flynn's got some secrets that he's worried Natalie won't be able to handle and she's got some secrets of her own (a past we get a glimpse of, especially at the end).
The two fall in love pretty quickly but it didn't feel like insta-love to me. I think the buildup of their connection is what worked most to convince me that these characters matter together. The author completely captured my attention with her writing, her voice, and her beautiful characters.
