I was reminded of the strong female characters that Joss Whedon writes like Black Widow or Buffy and especially Echo from Dollhouse. In fact, my first thought when I finished this was 'If Joss Whedon wrote a novelization of Die Hard, it would be like this.' It's filled with action, heartbreak, revenge and it's some of the most fun I've had reading a book in awhile. I especially recommended it for anyone that enjoys multiple perspectives, flashbacks, and pop culture references.

I would've liked a little more at the end, something that offered something more concrete of a finish, tied up just a couple more loose strings. (Is Emma alive or dead, was she magicked into existence?)

Perfect for fans of Joss Whedon, Lexicon by Max Berry, Minority Report, and fans of the Ex-Heroes series.
