it was amazing
bookshelves: horror, zombies, humor
Read in February, 2011

Zombies and a book store--what's not to like? My wife brought this home from the library and I made her renew it so I could read it. Ended up buying the e-book. I expected a snarky, YA humorous novel about zombies--that's how it's marketed. But I found it surprisingly serious and except for the cover illustration, could easily be an adult title. (The protagonist is a graduate student working in a bookstore.) There are some snarky comments and darkly humorous moments, but otherwise it reads more like a thoughtful post-apocalyptic sf novel and very well done at that. A sequel is in the works and should be out in early 2012.
