Half-werewolf, half-vampire, Riley Jenson is on the case of madman-scientist Deshon Starr in this third book that wraps up the initial trilogy, plot-wise. Her personal life is less well organised than the mission, with old and new lovers vying for her attention.

She will have to infiltrate Starr's compound to discover not only what he's working on, but who he's been disguising himself as over the years. The truth will be a surprise to everyone.

The first three books in this series are intense, exciting and passionate. Highly original, rife with fantastical creatures in a present-day Melbourne where supernatural races are out in the open, Arthur has envisioned a engrossing world. Riley is a strong, capable protagonist with a outgoing, friendly, witty nature - she feels familiar instantly: ordinary in some respects, extraordinary in others.

These books can also be quite graphic, and not always in a romantic way. Quinn, an ancient vampire, is a steady love interest but he's an enigmatic character in his own right, secretive, a bit aloof, demanding and inscrutable. Riley wants a soul mate, though, which can only be a wolf - and not one of her choosing - though her dreams of having children one day have been screwed by said madman-scientist.

You will need to read these books in order, even after this beginning threesome, for the over-arching plot-lines and character development.
