Since Alex Flinn's novels are fairy tale retellings. i keep on thinking all kinds of fairy tales that i knew when i was a kid that is associated with "cloaked" so i was thinking...thinking... and thinking and nothing came up. Harry potter just popped out of my mind cause of the "invisibility cloak" ^^

so anyways this book is about a very average boy,Johnny who is a shoe maker he and his mom is struggling to make ends meet on their small shoe repair shop, but everything changed when princess Victoriana came, she has a quest for Johnny and if Johnny miraculously get through the quest alive, he will have to marry a real life princess and leave his average life.

the first couple of pages i realized that this is a retelling of the fairy tale "the shoemaker and the elves" so i was like "how in the bloody hell "cloaked" is related to a shoemaker?!" (OCD kicking in) haha! but it turns out that the princess gave Johnny a magical cloak that can transport you anywhere.

This book fairy tale mash up. All kinds of fairy tales are here, some of them I'm not familiar, but this book is a very hilarious. And as usual you'll get all sorts of magical creatures involved, witches, curses, prince, princess. And a whole lot of LOVE.

This a very fun and light read book, from Alex Flinn. But I enjoyed reading
Beastly more. :D
