I must admit I did not find this sequel nearly as engrossing as Uglies. Pretties picks up with Tally Youngblood's adventures after she has the operation which makes her "pretty". However, the ugly past fails to disappear and Tally must face the decisions she made and struggle with relationships damaged by the past. I enjoyed seeing more of Tally's futuristic world and will definitely continue this series, but Pretties certainly does not live up to the promise of the first book in the Uglies series.

Emily I still haven't finished reading this, somehow. It's super weird in comparison to the first book.

Emily I finally finished it; your review is exactly what I thought. It got more interesting towards the end of the book. The "pretty" talk drove me crazy.
