Imagine the Four Horsemen of the Apocolypse, but Death just created Famine from an anorexic teenage girl. Yes, it's a weird, but totally believable premise in this short but worthwhile read. Lisa can't admit that the "Thin Voice" in her head is not normal. Her friend and boyfriend can't convince her she's ill. She believes, with good reason it seems, that her parents expect perfection from her. One night it's all too much, and she decides to commit suicide, but instead, Death offers her the choice to become Famine.

This book was a great exploration of the very unglamours world of eating disorders combined with an interesting new mythology of the Four Horsemen. It's a quick read that should also appeal to reluctant readers.
