Eh - to be honest, I wasn't particularly enamored with this story. I tried reading it in paperback form several years ago and never picked it back up after the intial sitting (although I did get almost 100 pages in at that point). I found it again on Audible, 25th anniversary version with full cast presentation for 5$ and thought I'd give it another attempt. I very much enjoyed the Full Cast element to it, but overall, the story didn't do very much for me. It's written well, but I found the story to meander far too much. Mr. Gaimen as much as tells us it will do that in the forward.

Also, I wasn't impressed with the Gods as they are today. i think this is the point of the novel, but I didn't like it. Too many of them were just the equivalent of bums and 2 bit crooks.

I liked the main protagonist - Shadow - but felt his outlook to be too relaxed to be believable.

I know I'm in the minority with this one, but it just wasn't for me in the end.
