liked it
bookshelves: fiction, vampire

Some straightforward, soap opera-y vampire fun. Needed something light and quick, and this did the trick.

I've watched the show True Blood based on this series and it's interesting to note the differences. I quite like that Bill is more of a self-absorbed jerk in the novel - the Southern gentleman act in the television series just felt lame after a bit. I like Sookie in the television series better as she's kinda more dumb (is it even possible...) it seems to me in the novel.

Looking forward to checking out the rest of the series for more in the same vein. Ha, yup, cornball city.

First read March 2011.
Second read June 2012.
Third read April 2014.
Fourth read/listen March 2016. Johanna Parker is an awesome narrator!
