I've read the first book a few times, but finally decided to read both. Alice as a character is very easy for me to identify with. All the same, I would be lying if I said I still feel that this is a masterpiece. It can be a headache to read. I much prefer the original Disney film - it has always been a favourite. The Tim Burton one is lovely as well. This is one of the few books I've come to love more as an adaptation.

CC Quite. It does seem to be written for a more visual medium, and isn't very imaginative - it's more a travel from scene to scene of already imagined oddities, which is better suited to moving pictures.

Roya The constantly changing scenes are very confusing in a book. For awhile I thought that I had lost my sense of imagination and that it's a wonderful book. But to say that would be somewhere on the same level with the advisors of the emperor in The Emperor's New Clothes - it's not me, it's you.

Hanin Elthawabtah Yup, same here.
