it was amazing
bookshelves: middle-grade-2016, non-fiction2016, picture-books-2016, poetry-2016, read-2016, young-adult-2016

In his forward, J. Patrick Lewis speculates how some of our famous poets of the past might have written about the wonders of nature shown in the fabulous photographs included in this book. He shares that they rarely saw these phenomena, didn’t even know they existed. He urges everyone to get outside to explore, don’t miss what might not be there tomorrow. As Thoreau says: “It’s not what you look at that matters. It’s what you see.”
Some former poets’ poems have been selected to pair with a photo, but others writing today, some familiar Poetry Friday poets, have also written poems that are included. If you need a wonderful anthology that will fit nearly every science and nature topic that is being studied, you need this book. And if you love nature, or want to love it and learn about it even more, you need this book. It’s wonder-filled!
