Jobless, Clueless, Reckless
Feb 17, 2016
As my journey into Indian young adult fiction continues, I was excited for this book. It began well enough, with characters that were contrived, but interesting. Quickly I realized that the book seemed to force-fit itself into a genre, a copy of the classic YA motifs (outsider girl, love triangles, teen pregnancy). However, it didn't do the motifs in an original way, nor was I satisfied with the character growth or resolution. In the end, I was left feeling like I had simply finished the book, not like I had learned something.
