The first book in the Century Trilogy by the absolutely amazing author, Ken Follett
The novel follows five families across the globe as their fates interact through a panoramic view of World War I. The marvelous stories are filled with love and loyalty from a forbidden romance between a German spy and a British aristocrat, to a Russian soldier and his brother who are in love with the same woman.
This is a long book full of historical accuracy, marvelous character and sweeping yet an intimate portrait of the past. It is action packed from coal mines to sparkling palaces as only the master Mr. Follet can accomplish.
A truly great book, and good news, it’s just the beginning!

message 1: by Sue (new) - added it

Sue Thanks Joan - I'm adding it to the "to read" list that I'm not sure I will get to read - so little time and so much to read, right?
