really liked it

This is a great book. I particularly like books that take a view outside of a mainstream or dominant culture. The story is simple: Barabba is pardoned on the day Jesus is condemned to death. Curious about who the man was that died in his stead, Barabbas discovers early Christians, but looks on them as strangers in a strange land. As he continues to try to understand Jesus, he finds himself more and more a tool of the Roman Empire and turns into a kind of Bizarro Jesus. Quite insightful and useful.
