bookshelves: character-study

I couldn't tell if this book was written as a potential screenplay or if the author had visions of being the next Richard Russo. Game after game is described in excruciating detail, and by the third or fourth time I began to skip pages to find the final score and moved on with the characters. None of these characters were new - If you've seen Hoosiers, Rudy, or any other sports themed movie about an underdog, you've read this book.
