it was amazing

I thought I read this at some point when I was a kid, but I didn't have any recollection of it. What an awesome book! I laughed outloud many times, and would have cried if I had not been at work...

Harriet Levy If I had to pick my all time favorite book it would be a toss up between Little Women and Pride and Prejudice. I read Little Women countless times when I was a kid, and re-read it recently. I still loved it, and I still cried when Beth died (even though I knew it was coming). If you want to further the joy, read Little Men and Jo's Boys. They're also wonderful.

Robin Marie Hi Harriet,

For whatever reason I really, really don't enjoy P&P. I guess that's strange, but Alcott's style is so much more appealing to me.

Harriet Levy I agree that Alcott is much more accessible. I didn't get into Austen until I listened to all of them as audiobooks, then went back and read them all.

I think being American, Alcott is much more accessible to us. I won't argue on how absolutely wonderful she is. Have you read Little Men and Jo's Boys?
