it was amazing
bookshelves: lauren-pick, book-discussion-group, young-adult

Anderson positions a young slave girl's struggle for freedom against the backdrop of the American War for Independence, dramatically exposing the hypocritical values of the young nation. Although this book is intended for middle grade audience, I think many adults would enjoy this well-researched and provocative work of historical fiction.
