really liked it
bookshelves: historical-fiction
Read from June 26 to July 01, 2011

Didn't know much about Hemingway so I found this story about his first of four wives very interesting. A really good look at the bohemian way of life in Jazz-Age Paris. I actually enjoyed the graphic descriptions of bullfighting that went into his first famous novel "The Sun Also Rises". Quite a bit of insight into the development of his writing style. Now I want to read some actual Hemingway. I think I've only read The Old Man and the Sea in high school which I of course hated.

Rae Hittinger I loved a Farewell to Arms. His short stories are also enjoyable. I love his dialogue and the fact that you sometimes really have to pay close attention to be sure you know who said what.
