This book has a strong religious theme, which is not something that turns me away, but is definitely not something I look for. The author did a good job of developing this theme without alienating readers who may have different religious beliefs. I am not sure why, but I thought this book was reminiscent of We Were The Mulvaneys...not the story line, but it brought back some of the same feelings I remember with that book, especially at the beginning. For those of you NPR fans, the author of this book has been a producer for Minnesota Public Radio.
