bookshelves: 21c, american, romantic-suspense, suspense

Kayla Shaw is a private banker who has just realized that her very wealthy client, Bertone, has been using her to launder dirty money. Rand McCree is an operative of St. Kilda Consulting who is intent on bringing Bertone down because Bertone was responsible for the death of Rand's identical twin.

A weaker entry in this series. Kayla isn't one of Lowell's better female leads, and Rand's angst and anger seems a bit by the numbers. It's also not one of her books that features a particularly interesting setting or milieu, like the next two books in the series.

Like the other St. Kilda books, this is more suspense than romance, so probably not a good choice for those looking for something along the lines of Lowell's category romances.
