This book is to possesion as Moby Dick is to whale hunting. A true classic that makes for a spooky quick read at only 340 some odd short pages. I was only able to pop at three stars because I believe that the movie sucked some of the wind out of the sails. Normally I like to read a book before I see the movie. On this one it has been years since I have seen the movie yet when I read the book it follows the movie almost line for line. The writing however is first rate. I love the character of the police detective and the way he is portrayed. Reminds a person of the old T.V. detective Columbo. If a person has not seen the movie, by the same title, this book would have been much more refreshing and could have rolled out an easy four to four and a half star review.
