Honestly, I never liked Marissa. I thought that I would when I got to this book, but sadly that never happened. When she was part of the glymera she was quiet, demure and innocent. Oh, the good old days. Every scene she was in, I wanted her to shut the hell up. Why did she get a voice huh? She was totally unsupportive of Butch and was quite vocal about it. She did not deserve him!! The author tried to redeem her in the end, but I'm sorry it didn't work for me. The less I see this character, the better. She offers nothing and is a waste of space. I wanted Butch to have his own version of Beth or Bella. Even a Mary would have been ok. I'm sad for him.

So why did I rate this 5 stars then you ask? Because Butch and Vishous made this story!! The book was about these characters and screw Marissa. Really, what was so great about this character that everyone was falling over themselves to be with her? Butch. Rhevenge. C'mon. She's not so great. I'm glad Wrath dissed her ass. She was judgmental and superior. I couldn't stand her. Now Butch and Vishous I couldn't get enough of. They were such a great team and I loved getting V's POV as part of this story. I'm so excited to get his book.

The idea that Butch can suck the 'life' out of lessers was crazy incredible. Now the Brotherhood has that and Rhage's beast/dragon. This battle just got more real!!

Fave parts:

“He shifted his stare to the back of Lash's head. The guy's long blond hair was in a ponytail that rested smoothly down a jacket made by some fancy designer. And how did John know about the designer thing? Because Lash always told everyone what he was wearing when he walked in for class.
Had also mentioned tonight that his new watch was iced out by Jacob the Jeweler.” This urban reference made me giggle. I love how these vampires are totally immersed in hip hop culture!!

“Then Rhage's hand landed on Butch's shoulder. "Besides, you don't look a thing like him. I mean… hello? You're this beefy Irish white boy. He's like… bus exhaust or some shit."
Butch glanced over at Hollywood. "You're sick, you know that?"
"Yeah, but you love me, right? Come on. I know you feel me.” Rhage makes me laugh so much. His character is such a goof ball!!
