bookshelves: to-read, fiction, abandoned

Ugh. I don't usually quit on a book but I don't think I can bear to finish this one. Maybe I'm just reading a bad translation but it is so long and winding and there's so little plot to keep me engaged with the character study at hand.

Sara Ugh. I need to just finish it. But I'm so burned out on it. I'm about 2/3rds done I think. It's hard to tell on a Kindle.

Leah Is it just that it's so long? Do you like it (or parts of it)?

Sara It's just confusing. All the characters seem to go by two or three names, so it takes awhile to figure out who is who. And there's so much dissembling. It's really more of a philosophy text than a novel. But I hate to quit when I'm far enough through it.
