I love Rhage. I liked his character in the last book and absolutely loved him once his background was revealed in this one. Really and truly I was intrigued by his beast. It all reminds me of the Incredible Hulk. Every time the beast emerged I kept thinking 'Hulk Smash'!

I didn't like Mary for half the book. I really couldn't care less about her watching her mom pass away or that she herself had leukaemia. Couldn't care less. I wanted a lesser to get her and no one to save her. I didn't even consider how it would affect Rhage. I just didn't want him with her. But the author swayed me by the second half when she allowed Mary to finally be vulnerable to Rhage. That's when I could finally open my heart to her. She was just so ungrateful. I read all of the things Rhage did or was willing to do for her and she was all like 'So?' Chick, I will throat punch you.

I'm glad to see that the hip hop references were still kicking around. Even some classic rock was mixed in. I know some people don't like it, but I think the music helps set the scene. Shoot, when 'Hypnotize' was mentioned, I read the entire scene with that song rockin in my head. So I like it.

I'm really interested to see where things go between Bella and Zsadist. Getting their POVs in this book threw me for a loop but was much appreciated. And that John Matthew? He is someone to keep an eye on for sure because he'll be turning in two years. I'm anxious to hear his background story too. But first there's Zsadist and what a man he is. I was intrigued by him from the start when I read that he was a former blood slave, raped, pierced, and scarred. I'm sure his story will be extremely hard to read but no less compelling than the rest.
