The fact that Melanie Watt first tells the story about a mouse with interruptions from Chester and then changes it to a story about Chester makes this a book that could be used to teach point of view. The students could discuss what the story would be like if the mouse was the one interrupting the author and how the story would be different if told from a different point of view.
