More like 3.5. More of the illustrations are redrawings, unfortunately, but the archaeological details are good but will be understandable to the target demographic. The chronological arrangement is sensible and easy to follow. However, there is no bibliography. (It did contain one unusual claim: that 18th C. women carried small, lightweight chamber pots under their skirts, designed to be used when nature called while they were outside the home. (It might well be accurate but I've never encountered that particular piece of information before.)
