it was amazing
bookshelves: dual-pov, paranormal, possessive, suspense

I don't often get to dabble in the paranormal, mostly because I'm a scaredy cat lol. But this book was a winner for me. The writing style, although different than what I'm used to, worked! I was completely drawn into this story and did not want to put it down. For example, when Wrath went in a rage, I felt the coldness of it. And yes, it may be due to the fact that it is 5 below 0 outside my Toronto home, but the chill was there I tell ya. The author wrote about it being cold enough for him to see his breath. I felt that!

According to some reviews I read to prepare myself for this book, some people fell out of favour with Wrath. They felt he started off strong and then turned into a sap. I couldn't disagree more. He started strong and stayed strong. Just because a character is given feelings and feels them deeply, it doesn't make him any less alpha. I think those feelings make him fight even harder. Were we even reading the same book? Did you not read his rage scene??? Damn!

Beth's character, once she accepted her path, was incredibly sweet. I hope I get to see them both in future books because she and The Blind King were beautiful together.

There was just enough humour as well to break up the serious storyline. And Wrath's fellow brothers were a trip. I'm excited to read all about them. And I can't forget to mention Butch. He was almost an anti-hero for me but what a great guy. Jaded cop turned slayer? Awesome!

Ok, so there are obviously more lessers around and the battle isn't over. Omega needs to DIE!! I've got to continue this journey. On to book 2.
