A book club read and one I would have chosen for my husband rather than me. Its your classic crime type read with a few twists that gave it a solid three stars. Joe Cashin is a physically and emotionally damaged cop who is recuperating in his home town after hinted at drama's (that may be another book I'm not sure). He is trying to keep a low profile but things crop up and he deals with them in a very realistic way.

The language is clipped and sparse and very appropriate for an Australian crime novel, the sense of Australia and its underlying racial tension is well depicted.
