Book 15 in the Argeneau vampire series

4 stars for the first half of this book, 3 stars for the second half

This book focuses on two vampire life-mates Drina Argenis and Harper Stoyan. Harper blames himself for the death of his first life mate (Jenny), who died during her turn. So, he is the reluctant vampire in this story. Drina and Harper are life-mates, but it takes awhile for Harper to come around. Drina is an enforcer and was placed there (Port Henry) to help watch/baby-sit Stephanie (edentates, a good no-fanger) who was turned by Leonius in (I believe) The Immortal Hunter.

There is not much plot to this book, sad to say. The first half is all about Drina and Harper, which is actually really funny, and the second half there is not much going on, but I guess where the “plot” is supposed to start. Accidents keep happening. Is Leonius behind them? Has he finally found Stephanie?

I’m very much looking forward to the next book, which is going to center around Teddy Brunswick, mortal sheriff of Port Henry who knows about the immortals.
