it was amazing

The book “Monster High” is overall, a very good book. The plot of the story revolves around fitting in during your high school years. With a twist. The main characters (for the most part) all have something in common: They are mythological/fantasy/horror-movie creatures’ children. From Dracula to Cleopatra and The Wolfman. The book starts out a bit slow but quickly becomes an interesting read that you will not want to put down. The story covers all bases, from fitting in with the “in-crowd”, having teenage crushes, being embarrassed about who you are, wanting to be yourself, and finding people who like you for who you are…all without the racy drama found in many other teen books covering the same subjects. This book is very well written, giving POVs of the two main characters, one on the “monster” side and the other human. Aside from the good messages this book sends about how “Fitting in is out,” it also gives the young readers very brief exposure to “old-school” monsters, peaking an interest in the history of literature. A recommended read for all ages (more so for girls 12+).
