What?! Only 3 stars for Giordano Bruno?! That's BLASPHEMY! Bruno is a fascinating & important figure to me - as are, probably, all 'heretics' - & I'll continue to read things by him (I have another in my library) but I think I'm too removed from his time to fully appreciate this. It was too esoteric in a particular way for me to successfully enter into it. &, for me, that's really saying something!

Derek McPhail as I am a big fan of both Graham Hancock and Robert Bauval, am very impressed with their collaboration on "The Mast Game: Unmasking The Secret Rulers Of The World". this brilliant scholarly work touches on the important contribution by Giordana Bruno to the Hermetic revolution, that inspired the Italian Renaissance. his brilliant work, "The Expulsion of the Triumphant Beast", revealed that Egyptian wisdom came earlier than that of the Greeks, and certainly much earlier than that of the Christians. his thesis was that, not only is driving out the "triumphant beast" a metaphor for eliminating the vices that oppose the divinity of the soul; but also, for removing the pope and the entire corrupt structure of Catholic Christianity, to be replaced with "Egyptianism", a religion based on the teachings of Hermes Trismegistus.
