Hoyt the sorcerer loses his Brother Cain to the immortal vampire Lilith. When Lilith and Cain give him the choice of being like them or dieing, you can guess what choice he made. In realizing that his brother was lost Cain staked him in the chest. After that Hoyt is taken ill from what he did to his brother. The Goddess Morrigan then sends him through time to gather a group of six warriors. Hoyt then goes on a search in 21st century world. There he meets with his brother Cain, which is living in the high life. And he also meets what will become the love of his life Glenna. In doing so he finds two of the people who he is supposed to find to wage war against. So now he has the witch and the one who was lost to him, now he only needs the warrior, the scholar, and the one of many forms. In their journey Glenna and Hoyt discover eachother and Hoyt asks her if she'll marry him. They get married and the real question that is plagueing them is whether Glenna will leave the 21st century or will they stay in her world? Glenna is given time because there is still the big matter of killing Lilith. Mean while they have to look for the others that will help bring down the demon Hoyt has to kill in order to bring back Cain.
